Downtown T-Town isn’t like any other downtown area. It is split up into districts, allowing businesses and residents to choose what fits them best. The Blue Dome District is full of entertainment, but other districts offer just as much in their own way.

The East Village
Between East Second and East Seventh and between Detroit Avenue and Lansing Avenue you’ll find 115 acres of downtown Tulsa called the East Village. Situated inside the inner-dispersal loop, you’ll find a hair salon and pet day care. You’ll also find residential lofts, along with photography studios and an upscale martini bar. This is known as a living arts district and is the 2nd largest LGBT community in the state.

Oil Capital Historic District
In 2010, the National Register of Historic Places added The Oil Capital Historic District to its list. Situated in downtown Tulsa between Third Street, Seventh Street, Cheyenne Avenue and Cincinnati Avenue, you will find several historic office buildings that were the hub of Tulsa during the 20’s and 30’s.

Downtown has its Uptown
On the west side of downtown Tulsa, Riverview runs along the Arkansas River’s east bank, putting this area on the south side of T-Town’s downtown area. Just like much of Tulsa’s downtown area, there are buildings and businesses that make the Uptown district all its own like the SoBo bar and the Ambassador Hotel which has been added to the National Register of Historic Places for Tulsa County. The 1929 structure was once the hub for the businessmen of the area and is now a boutique hotel.

Riverview Historic District
The Riverview Historic District is situated between 12th and 13th Streets, Denver and Elwood Avenues alleyway, Riverside Drive and 14th Place and Jackson Avenue. Named after an elementary school that was torn down in 1975, this district now has apartment buildings, houses and other structures built from 1911 and up until 1938. Several of those buildings have been listed on the National Register of Historic places including:
